Good News or Bad?

Cinescape.com (among others) is reporting that Darren Aronofsky is signed to deirect the upcoming Watchmen movie. Now, most of you should know that Watchmen is based on the comic book by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. If you haven't read it, what the hell is wrong with you? Considered by most (including me) to be one of the best works of fiction the world has ever seen, Watchmen has long been rumored to be making the leap to the big screen. Until now most had presumed it would be as hopeless as the other films based on Alan Moore works (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell). Meaning, it will have as little as possible in common with the source material. With this announcement there might be hope that Paramount is actually taking this as serious as possible. But, there's always the chance that it'll go up in flames. You never know.
